The Crystal Ship 2023: Mural by Cleon Peterson

Cleon Peterson is one of those legendary street artists who has moved on to other art forms. Although, as you can see, he also remains attracted to meter-high walls. The American is visibly influenced by Greco-Roman art. And, just like a few millennia ago, he often seeks refuge in violence and sex. However, Peterson draws equally on Caravaggio and Goya, as well as on what he calls one-sided, heroic media coverage of geopolitical and social conflicts. His work for The Crystal Ship came about with the help of Belgian street artists Kitsune and Lobster.
