It took a while, but Chantal Akerman is finally getting the recognition she deserves. Since her timeless masterpiece Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles was crowned the best film ever by directors from all over the world – sorry, Orson! – even sweet popcorn lovers know her name. (They still deserve to be shot for putting sugar on corn, but that's another issue.)

It's also from Jeanne Dielman that Spanish artist Alba Fabre Sacristán, a big fan of Akerman, chose a scene for her impressive mural – a stone’s throw from 23 quai du Commerce. With an insane amount of pleasure, All About Things worked with the city of Brussels, the Chantal Akerman Foundation and the CINEMATEK to make this mural happen. And even if we say so ourselves: Akerman’s genius is encapsulated in the work!
