Homage to Sanda Dia

A large portrait of Sanda Dia adorns the wall of the Pieter De Somer auditorium, in the centre of Leuven. The idea came from his friends, who wanted to pay homage to the late student with the mural by German artist Case Maclaim.

All About Things acted as a mediator between the city of Leuven, the KU Leuven University and the friends and family. During discussions with Dia's close circle, it quickly became clear that it had to be a photorealistic work. We quickly ended up with German street painter Maclaim, a renowned artist who digs into the souls of the people he portrays and has now also created this honest and serene, yet powerful portrait of Sanda.
